Diallertest® is a non-invasive patch allergy diagnostic suitable for infants, children or adults, with particular suitability in pre-mature infants. Diallertest® Milk is DBV’s first marketed product in the Diallertest® portfolio, designed for the diagnosis of . Additional Diallertest® products are in development for the diagnosis of other food allergies including wheat and soybean.
The Diallertest® kit consists of two applicators – one containing the specified allergen patch-test (Test), such as cows’ milk allergen, and the other a control empty patch-test (Control). The innovative applicator system enables easy application of the VIASKIN®'s without any risk of incorrect application.
Both patches (Test and Control) are applied directly and painlessly to the upper region of the child’s back, as the shoulder area has many reactive cells. They are applied either at the doctor’s office or by the parents at home. They are removed 48 hours later by the child’s parents. Once a further 24 hour period has elapsed, a doctor is able to examine the child’s back for results. The diagnostic test is a comparative reading of skin reaction between application of the Control and active Test containing the allergen.
The skin reaction will be noticeably redder on the side where the Test containing the allergen was placed when compared to the Control.
The skin will show either no signs of a visible reaction or slight signs (such as redness) similar between the Test and the Control.
